ASTROSIM - Simulation of astronomical aspects of Middle Neolithic circular ditch systems
Middle Neolithic monumental circular ditch systems (KGA) have been magnetically prospected by VIAS and ZAMG Archeo Prospections®. Their astronomical aspects are investigated by a research project lasting from 2009 - 2011 (FWF - P 21208-G19) to test the hypothesis that the entrances of these monumental timber constructions enclosed by wide and deep ditches are oriented towards the rising and setting points of the sun, moon and certain stars.
