scientific work on animal remains from the Oymaağaç - Nerik Project (DFG and FU Berlin) in Oymaağaç (Turkey).

scientific work on animal remains from Tell el-Dab'a (ÖAI -Cairo, Egypt).

1992 - 1994

Work on the animal remains from the Apollo-cave (Switzerland), reassembling of two cave-bear skeletons, collaboration in the follow-up project of the FWF-Project Nr. 7920.

Collaboration, FWF-Project Nr. 6514 "Evolution und Chronologie des Höhlenbären" and FWF-Project Nr. 7920 "Paläontologische, sedimentologische und archäologische Untersuchungen in der Gamssulzenhöhle (Totes Gebirge)"

 

Main Research 2011-2016

· Spatial/ functulan distribution of animal remains in complex archaeological situations ("bonescapes", especially around buildings): Austria (Carnuntum), Egypt (Tell el-Dab'a) and Turkey (Oymaağaç/Nerik)

· Animal remains in cult and ritual: Carnuntum-Mühläcker, burial grounds of Halbturn and Franzhausen, tempel contexts in Tell el-Dab'a and Oymaağaç, Kartause Mauerbach, Tingwall (UK).

· Butchery studies: especially in the Austria Romana and the Medieval and Early Modern times in Austria and the above mentioned Oriental sites.
