Results of the GPR survey to explore the school of gladiators

The School of Gladiators was initially detected by magnetometry and handheld GPR surveys by the team ZAMG Archeo Prospections® in cooperation with VIAS-University in Vienna. The detected remains of a large rooman building complex with an inner court was resurveyed 2010 usin a MIRA system with 16 400 Mhz antennas in a spatial resolution of 8x8 cm. This surveyed showed a training arena in the court which made it clear that this has to be interpreted as the School of Gladiators next to the Roman amphitheatre at Carnuntum.
